1. Driver requirements

1.1. Minimum driver age is 23 years. Maximum driver age is 70 years.

1.2. All drivers must be in possession of a full EU, UK or Israeli driving license to present it with a national identity or passport during car pickup. For non-EU issue driver's license an International Driving License is required.

1.3. Driving license: 2 years driver experience according to the driver's license issue date. Driver license must be written in English or Latin alphabet characters.

2. Fuel policy

2.1 Unlimited Mileage & Full to Full Fuel Policy. If the vehicle is returned with less fuel than supplied at pick-up, the Hirer will be charged for the missing fuel at local pump rates, plus a Refueling Service Charge of €20. The Hirer is entirely liable for all mechanical cleaning, towing, and engine repair costs resulting from filling the vehicle with the incorrect fuel type (e.g., putting Diesel into a Petrol car). This damage is explicitly excluded from all insurance waivers.

4. Payment, Invoicing, Financial Safeguards & Cancellations

4.1. All credit cards and debit cards must be in the name of the driver and have to be presented at the beginning of the rental period. Make sure you have enough limit to cover the excess.

4.2. Payment Due: The full estimated rental cost, including any selected additional insurance coverages, upgrades, or extra equipment (e.g., child seats, Cooler), is payable in full online prior to vehicle collection. Payments must be settled via a major credit card.

4.3. Late Payments: Any post-rental adjustments, damages, or un-cleared balances will be invoiced immediately. Late payments are subject to standard late interest fees under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.

4.4. Security Deposit (Pre-Authorization): A credit card pre-authorization or cash deposit will be held at the start of the rental to cover the insurance excess/deductible. This deposit will be released within 15 to 30 business days after the safe return of the vehicle, subject to bank processing times.

4.5. Cancel for free up to 48 hours before pick-up. Customers may cancel a 100% prepaid booking and receive a full refund if is advised 2 days prior to the pick-up date.

4.6. For cancellations with less than 2 days' (less than 48 hours) notice, a refund of 50% of the voucher value will be made. No refund is available for cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice.

4.7 The renter authorizes UPRISING LTD to charge the credit/debit card on file for any traffic violations, speeding tickets, parking fines, or toll fees incurred during the rental period, plus a local administration fee of €10 per violation, even if these fines are processed after the return of the vehicle.

5. Optional Extras

5.1 Additional Drivers: (2 maximum) charges apply. Only the primary Renter and any additional drivers explicitly named, registered, and authorized on the official booking form are legally permitted to operate the vehicle.

5.2 Infant Seat / Child Seat / Booster Seat (subject to availability) charges apply.

5.3 Cooler box, Charges apply.

6. Hire, Returns Period, & Late Returns Extension Policy

6.1. Our standard working hours are 09:00 to 18:00 Mon-Fri (09:00 to 16:00 Sat-Sun). Pick-ups and drop-offs at our Paphos Main Office are completely free during these hours, but a €20 surcharge applies to any office collection or return outside of working hours. For Paphos Airport (PFO), a standard service charge of €20 applies during regular working hours, which increases to €30 for any pick-ups or drop-offs handled outside working hours. All locations and timings must be scheduled in advance, and fees apply per individual action.

6.2. If you wish to extend the hire period, you must notify the Company at least 48 hours prior to the original expiration time. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability and will be charged at current retail rental rates.

6.3. Late Return Fees: We offer a standard 29-minute grace period. If the vehicle is returned later than the agreed time without prior written consent, the following surcharges apply: First 3 hours: A pro-rata hourly fee of €10 per hour. Over 3 hours: A full additional day's rental charge plus a late administration fee of €30.

6.4. Delays of more than 4 hours without communication will result in the vehicle being formally reported as unauthorized use/theft to the Cypriot Police.

6.5. The vehicle and equipment must be returned to the specified location, date, and time as stated in the rental agreement and in the same condition as when received.

6.6. Failure to return the vehicle and equipment to the designated location will result in the renter/driver being held responsible for any damage and/or loss incurred. Additionally, the renter/driver will be liable for any loss of use and any associated costs required for their return.

6.7. If the Hirer fails to pick up the vehicle on the agreed time & day (with 1 hour grace period) without a fair time warning the reservation is considered a "No show", no refund is made.

7. Insurance Options & Excess Liability

7.1. The Hirer may choose between two coverage tiers at the start of the rental:

7.1.1. Option A: Standard Protection (TPI + CDW): Included in the base rate. This option carries a maximum damage liability (Excess) of €1,000. A security deposit of €1,000 will be pre-authorized/held on the primary driver's credit card upon collection. Providing the vehicle is returned undamaged, with the correct fuel level, and free of traffic violations, this deposit will be released in full within 15 to 30 business days.

7.1.2. Option B: Premium All-Inclusive Cover: Available for an extra fee of €6 per day, capped at €30 per week or €99 per calendar month. This option requires no credit card deposit at pick-up and reduces the maximum damage liability (Excess) to €500.

7.2. All authorized drivers of vehicles are covered against damages from fire to the rented vehicle, and Liability Insurance to Third Party death, injury, and property. Both coverages are subject to General Terms of the car rental insurance contract with its Insurer.

7.2.1. Insurance limits the drivers liability in the event that the rental car is damaged, subject to the terms of the rental agreement. Rather than the full cost, the driver is generally only responsible for the first portion, known as their 'excess'. This protection applies to all authorized drivers of the rental car.

7.3. Authorized Drivers & Insurance Voidance: Only the primary Renter and explicitly registered additional drivers are permitted to operate the vehicle. Allowing an unauthorized person to drive is a strict breach of this agreement. In the event of unauthorized use, all insurance coverages and waivers are instantly voided. The primary Renter assumes 100% personal financial and legal liability for all damages, loss, theft, and third-party claims incurred, under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.

8. Driver Responsibilities

8.1. The Renter is responsible for any damage, loss, or theft of the vehicle during the rental period, except as covered by insurance. All traffic fines and any/or any kind of fines which might have occurred during the rental period are the customer's responsibility.

8.2. In the event of an accident caused by the renter/driver, holds no obligation to repair, replace, or provide a refund for the vehicle. The renter/driver is responsible for arranging and covering their own transportation from the accident scene.

8.3. Accident Reporting. In the event of an accident, the renter/driver must – notify the police and the owner immediately, not move the vehicle without the owner's consent or police instructions.

9. Illegal Use & Driving Rules

9.1. In accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus, the vehicle must be driven on the left-hand side of the road. Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers, and the use of hand-held mobile devices while driving is strictly illegal.

9.2 Off-Road Restrictions: Driving on unpaved roads, dirt tracks, beaches, or within the Akamas Peninsula nature reserve is strictly prohibited. Any damage occurring in these areas cancels all insurance and roadside assistance, making the Hirer fully liable for recovery and repairs.

9.3. Cross-Border Travel (Northern Occupied Area): The vehicle is insured for use only within the government-controlled areas of the Republic of Cyprus. Crossing the UN buffer zone ("Green Line") into Northern Cyprus is strictly prohibited unless specific written permission is granted by the Company. Be advised that standard rental insurance is completely void in the North; third-party insurance purchased at the checkpoint does not cover damage to our vehicle, and our roadside assistance cannot cross the border to rescue you.

9.4. The Hirer agrees that the vehicle cannot be used: For illegal purposes or racing, for pushing or towing a trailer or other carriage, when under the influence of alcohol or drugs, for driving off-road or on unpaved roads and/or any other activity deemed illegal under the laws of the Republic of Cyprus.

10. Data Protection & Privacy

10.1. We prioritize your data security. Your information is used strictly for rental management.

10.2. No data is shared without consent unless legally required.

I HAVE READ AND AGREED TO THE TERMS ON BOTH SIDES OF THIS AGREEMENT AND CONFIRM THAT IF PAYMENT HEREUNDER IS TO BE MADE BY CREDIT CARD OR CHARGE CARD MY SIGNATURE BELOW SMALL CONSTITUTE AUTHORITY TO DEBIT MY NOMINATED CREDIT CARD OF CHARGE CARD COMPANY WITH THE TOTAL AMOUNT DUE.

ALSO AGREE THAT REGARDLESS OF ANY OTHER MATTER I AM PERSONALLY LIABLE UNTIL THE BALANCE IS PAID ANY DAMAGES UNDERNEATH THE CAR, OIL SUMP, WINDOWS AND THEFT ARE NOT COVERED BY THE SCOW INSURANCE AND REMAIN RESPONSIBILITY OF THE DRIVER.

ALL COMPLAINTS MUST BE NOTIFIED TO THE MANAGEMENT BEFORE THE END OF THE RENTAL PERIOD OTHERWISE WE WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.
